With summer over and autumn here, many of us are beginning the work of cleaning up our yards and gardens. The flowers are about done blooming, and the vegetable garden is ready to be put to bed. It’s also the time of year when many of us prune our shrubs, or remove some of our landscape to make way for new plants.
If this sounds like you, you’re likely going to have a lot of green waste to dispose of. At Skagit Soils (a division of Lautenbach Recycling) we want you to recycle it, rather than send it to the landfill.
Did you know that Skagit Soils accepts your green waste?
In fact, we process almost 14,000 tons of our valley’s green waste annually!
When you bring us your green waste, we’ll turn it into organically complete landscape materials like compost, mulch (garden and bark), and mixed soils. We’re both doing our parts to make sure that what comes from the land goes back to the land. Like all of our other recycling endeavors, we strive to create a sustainability circle with each product we touch.
Do you have more green waste than you can haul yourself?
We have a variety of sizes of roll-off boxes available – give us a call or send us an email and we’ll help you determine what size box you need, and when you need. it. (360-757-4000 | [email protected])
What landscape/green materials can you bring us?
- Grass clippings, leaves, brush, prunings, branches and small stumps.
- We do limit sizes; we can only accept lengths under 10 feet and under 2 feet in diameter.
- And be sure you don’t accidently mix in any non-organics like plastic bags, flowerpots, labels or weed barrier cloth.
